OUR APPROACH:

We consider ourselves a "cooperative" youth group because we want to serve as a hub, bringing together faith communities and families from across San Diego who find a home in our youth group.  

Led by vibrant, compassionate, and trained volunteer youth staff from various walks of life and denominations, we are proud to connect our tweens and teens to safe, vetted adults who provide many models of what faithful engagement in the world can look like. 

We take our tweens’ and teens' lives, concerns, and perspectives seriously.  And we take our responsibility to them seriously.  But we don't take ourselves too seriously!  Even though we’re passionate about justice and exploring the challenges our students face, we also have a really great time every time we come together.  Music, laughter, play, snacks, and art are a part of everything we do.  

While our general ethic and lessons are shaped by the message and ministry of Jesus, we take care to respect each student’s spirituality and journey.  There is no public or private pressure to devote oneself to Christianity or a relationship with God.  The diversity of our students’ beliefs and practices adds to our strength.  Similarly, our students have a range of experiences in and out of places of worship.  Though denomination and/or church affiliation is embraced, none are specifically endorsed.
